Living a Purpose-Driven Life by Using Your God-Given Talents

Using Your Talents to Live a Purpose-Driven Life

Real stories of faith and courage inspiring women to use their gifts and step into their purpose.

Have you ever wondered what you’re really meant to do with your life? Like, there must be more than just paying bills, running errands, and trying to keep up with everything?

That feeling is exactly what a purpose-driven life is all about.

I recently co-authored a book with 18 incredible women called Kingdom LeadHERship – Stepping Joyfully Into God’s Calling. In it, I share a personal story I’ve never shared publicly before—about my struggles, my journey, and how I learned to use my creative talents to walk into my purpose.

And let me tell you, it hasn’t always been easy. But it has been worth it.

Your Talents Are Clues to Your Purpose

Here’s something I’ve learned along the way:

The things you are naturally good at are not an accident.

Your creativity, your skills, your personality, and your passions are all little hints pointing you toward your calling. Too many of us think purpose has to be something big and dramatic. But most of the time, it’s found in the everyday talents we already have.

For me, it started with a paintbrush.

I thought decorative painting was just something fun I enjoyed doing. I never imagined it would turn into a business, a ministry, and a way to encourage other women.

Your talent might be different—cooking, organizing, teaching, crafting, or helping people feel seen and loved. Whatever it is, that gift was placed inside you for a reason.

Purpose Happens When Talent Meets Heart

Talent alone is just a skill.

But when you use your talent to help someone else, that’s where purpose comes alive.

Living a purpose-driven life doesn’t mean doing huge things. It means doing small things with great love. Showing up, serving others, and using what you already have.

Purpose is less about WHAT you do and more about HOW you do it.

The Struggles We All Face Along the Way

Now let’s be real for a minute.

Living on purpose sounds inspiring, but real life can feel messy.

There are busy schedules, self-doubt, financial stress, and days when you just want to hide under the covers. I’ve had plenty of moments where I wondered:

“Am I on the right path?”
“Is any of this even making a difference?”
“Should I just give up?”

If you’ve ever felt that way, you are not alone.

Purpose Grows in the Middle of the Struggle

Here’s the truth I’ve learned:

Purpose doesn’t show up after life gets easy.
Purpose grows right in the middle of the hard stuff.

Every woman in our book faced challenges—fear, failure, and uncertainty. But they kept using their talents anyway. And that’s what makes their stories so powerful and relatable.

Why I Shared My Own Story

Writing my chapter in Kingdom LeadHERship stretched me in ways I never expected.

I chose to share a part of my life I had kept hidden for years because of shame and embarrassment. It was scary to put it out there. But I felt called to be honest and real.

I realized something important:

Our struggles don’t disqualify us.
They prepare us.

A purpose-driven life doesn’t mean having a perfect past. It means letting your past help someone else heal and grow.

Turning Pain Into Purpose

We all have chapters we’d rather skip over. But those hard seasons often become the very things that shape our calling.

As the saying goes, “God doesn’t waste our pain.”

Sometimes the story you’re afraid to tell is exactly the one someone else needs to hear.

Using Your Talent Even When Life Is Hard

One of the biggest myths is that you have to feel confident to live out your purpose.

Nope.

Most of the time you just have to be willing.

Willing to try.
Willing to learn.
Willing to keep going even when it’s tough.

Purpose shows up when you take small, faithful steps—one day at a time.

Small Steps Create Big Purpose

You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need a next step.

Use the talent you already have.
Help one person today.
Start where you are.

Little actions, done with heart, add up to a meaningful life.

Final Thoughts on a Purpose-Driven Life

At the end of the day, living a purpose-driven life isn’t about being extraordinary.

It’s about being faithful with the gifts you’ve been given.

Using your talents.
Pushing through the struggle.
Helping others along the way.

That’s exactly what Kingdom LeadHERship is all about—real women sharing real stories of faith, courage, and purpose.
