Before you start painting your cabinets, take a moment to number your doors and drawers. It’s a simple step that can save you a ton of time and frustration when it comes time to put everything back together. 

How to Number Doors and Drawers

1. 1. Use a permanent marker: I like to use a sharpee.

• I start at the top and go from one end of the kitchen and the other.  

• Label them a T- for top and number #1 and so on. 

1. Label the bottom B-for bottom and #1 and so on. You get the picture
   

   Labeling Techniques for Top and Bottom Doors

   Once you have them all labeled, cover the numbers with tape so you don’t paint or spray over the numbers. I know this sounds like a no-brainer, but I had someone spray over one before.

You will also want to add a piece of tape inside the cabinet where you took the door off and write the same number. This way, you will know where to replace the correct door.

1. Keep hardware organized: Place screws, hinges, and other hardware in clearly labeled bags to avoid confusion later on.
